Enrol

“We chose St Finbarr’s not just because of the high academic performance, but because it was Catholic. We aren’t as parents, but we want what it means for our children.” family of St Finbarr’s School pupil

You are invited to enrol your children at St Finbarr’s School at any time of the year for any year level.

Families wishing to enrol children in Prep can apply if their child turns five by 30 June the year they start school.

St Finbarr’s School offers a Mini Finnies Prep Transition Program designed to prepare children for their transition to school. The program runs on a Friday morning in Terms 3 and 4 between 9.00am and 11.00am. Parents are invited to attend the sessions with their child. Mini Finnies sessions are open to all children in the Quilpie community, no matter whether or not they intend to enrol at St Finbarr's for Prep.  Contact the school for more details.

How to enrol

As our school is inclusive and outreaching to all in the community, all applicants will be considered.

Before making an application, please consider that enrolment applications must be accompanied by

  • documentary evidence of the date of birth
  • copy of the latest school report (if in Year 1-6)
  • copy of immunisation history
  • copy of court order verifying legal custody and/or access (if relevant).

All enrolments at St Finbarr’s School are provisional until such time as there has been an interview with the principal.

After these interviews, a decision on enrolment approval will be made according to the needs of the child and the capacity of the school to provide for those needs.  It is important for parents to outline all the details they can about the child so that a proper informed decision can be made.

School fees are inclusive of stationery and textbooks.
